Hello everyone isn’t it amazing how a little sunshine makes you feel brighter. This weekend the clocks go forward so we will start to have longer days and evenings. As its not so warm we can still continue to knit.
I wanted to share with you my Sring Knitted wreath which can be made on any size wreath ring. I first knitted the base which is using lots of odd balls of yarn in green to knitting this. I think the yarn was doubl knitting and size 4mm needles. I casted on 40 stitches and worked double rib which is simply knit 2 and the purl 2. The second row is making sure the knit is over the knit and the purl is over the purl. This will lead to a great 2x rib and will shape your dis really nice. You are working on maybe four strips to cover the base. Knit as many rows as you need and I just keep the piece a little firm so when I sewed to two edges together it holds tightly[ but not too tighly]. Keep knitting strips until the base is fully covered.
The flowers are knitted once again by using odds and ends I knitted many using other people patterns. Plus I designed and knitted a few of my orginal design.
Keep adding the flowers until the wreath is fully covered. I took time to make sure evry space is filled. So now when I look at the wreath I can see different flowers every time I look at it.
Now all I need to do is find somewhere to display.
